Concerto Competition 2015



Advanced musicians from around the world will have the opportunity to showcase their talents at the Concerto Competition 2015. As part of this year’s American Fine Arts Festival, the auditions will be seen by many great judges as well as other music lovers. This competition is focused on advanced music students looking to take their art to the next level. The competition is extremely strong every year, but with extraordinary opportunities given to those who win, it is worth the effort. Winners of the Concerto Competition 2015 will receive a $1000 scholarship, which goes toward expenses related to participation in the American Fine Arts Festival music courses. These courses take place in Europe. They will also be given an opportunity to play in the winners’ recital, which is located at the prestigious Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York (February, 2015). There are many other awards given to the winners of this competition, including complimentary master class with a distinguished member of the Moscow Conservatory Facility.

Concerto Competition 2015 | Auditions

Anyone who is interested in auditioning will need to meet all the requirements to participate. The Concerto Competition 2015 is open to anyone who plays the piano, strings or wind instruments. This competition, like all events in the American Fine Arts Festival, is open to students of all nationalities. Participants will compete based on age groups, which are broken down into the following categories. 7-13 years of age, 14-18 years of age, college students and amateur adults.
Those interested in auditioning will need to perform a standard concerto, single movement, or any concert piece. Orchestral accompaniments are available for those who require it. Vocalists may also audition for the Concerto Competition 2015 in either the classical or folk song categories. Winners of this event will perform a movement chosen by the judges from the participants audition program. A unique piece will be chosen for the recital with the Kostroma Symphony Orchestra, and another for the concert at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. Each of the winners will perform a solo piece during the concert.

Anyone who is interested in auditioning for the International Concerto Competition 2015 will want to make sure they submit their best possible performance. The competition is always extremely song for all areas of the American Fine Arts Festival, though this specific area brings in the best performers from across the country and even around the world. Participants in this competition will gain exposure, and have an exciting experience throughout the competition. Winners will then move on to play for distinguished guests at two of the most well known performance halls in the world.
To apply for participation in the Concerto Competition 2015, applicants must submit a DVD or high quality VHS recording of their audition performance. This should be submitted along with the application form and non-refundable $230 application fee. Please keep in mind that the DVDs or VHS tapes will not be returned after the application process. All audition applications must be postmarked by January 2015 in order to be considered.

Application Form

Applicants interested in participating in the AFAF Piano, Strings, Winds & Voice International Concerto Competition 2014 must submit a DVD or VHS of their audition performance, along with a completed application form and a non-refundable application fee. The application fee is $230. Applications and audition DVDs/VHSs must be postmarked no later than January 12, 2014.

Special Requirements

  • The recording must be on a high quality videocassette on the standard VHS format or a high quality DVD.
  • CD recordings are not acceptable
  • The recording must be clearly labeled on the outside with your name
  • The recording must be free of background noise.
  • Due to the large number of submissions, audition tapes/DVDs will not be reviewed or returned.
