Vicenza: dal 4 al 6 aprile il forum dei Dipartimenti di musica antica d'Europa 

Dal 4 al 6 aprile Vicenza sarà la sede del Forum 2014 dei Dipartimenti di musica antica d'Europa per l'AEC Program (Association Europeen des Conservatoires). Settanta i delegati presenti a rappresentare i Dipartimenti principali d'Europa, da Londra a Ginevra, da l'Aja a Barcellona, da Basilea a Utrecht per "Lo spirito dei luoghi- approfondimenti sull'acustica di preziosi gioielli storici destinati alla musica". Convegni e concerti avranno come argomento l'acustica del Teatro Olimpico e di Villa Contarini a Piazzola sul Brenta. «L'Italia meglio di altri luoghi in Europa- spiega Terrell Stone, docente di liuto al Conservatorio Arrigo Pedrollo e coordinatore del progetto- ha il privilegio di proporre situazioni dove il pregio estetico si unisca all'eccezionalità dell'acustica, in un contesto generale dove tecnica ed arte si fondono». I primi luoghi di studio saranno il cinquecentesco chiostro dei domenicani dove il Pedrollo ha sede e il Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, dove il 4 aprile alle 18,30 si terrà un concerto vivaldiano con il consort vocale e strumentale del Dipartimento di musica Antica del Conservatorio Arrigo Pedrollo diretto da Fabio Missaggia. Il 5 aprile invece il seminario si trasferisce a Villa Contarini, dove nel pomeriggio musicisti e studiosi d'Europa avranno modo di apprezzare le eccezionali qualità acustiche della celebre sala della chitarra rovesciata. La sala è stata costruita nella seconda metà del Seicento su iniziativa di Marco Contarini: la sala, in virtù della particolare conformazione, produce un funzionamento simile a quello di una cassa armonica. Le melodie intonate dai musicisti posizionati nei ballatoi superiori, vengono riflesse dal controsoffitto ligneo per diffondersi, attraverso l'apertura ottagonale del pavimento, nel sottostante auditorio.
