90 junge Musiker starten beim Telemann-Wettbewerb im März

Magdeburg - Am 8. Internationalen Telemann-Wettbewerb in Magdeburg werden im März 90 junge Musiker aus 25 Ländern teilnehmen. Das teilte das Telemann-Zentrum am Donnerstag in Magdeburg mit. Erstmals seien Teilnehmer aus Kanada, Kolumbien, Weißrussland, dem Libanon und der Ukraine dabei. Insgesamt hätten sich sogar 102 junge Musiker beworben.

Zugelassen sind in diesem Jahr erstmals fünf Soloinstrumente: Blockflöte, Traversflöte, Barockoboe, Barockvioline und Viola da gamba - mit ihnen sollen Werke des Barockkomponisten Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767) oder von dessen Zeitgenossen vorgetragen werd

Bei dem Telemann-Wettbewerb (7.-15. März) spielen 18- bis 34-Jährige auf historischen Instrumenten oder deren Nachbauten. Hauptpreis ist der mit 7500 Euro dotierte Preis der Mitteldeutschen Barockmusik. Es sind drei Wettbewerbsrunden vorgesehen. Über die Preisträger entscheidet eine internationale Jury. Im jährlichen Wettbewerb werden der Telemann-Wettbewerb und die Telemann-Festtage veranstaltet.

Magdeburg - On the 8th International Telemann Competition in Magdeburg will participate young musicians from 25 countries in March 90.
