15th "Gheorghe Dima" International Music Competition

Cluj-Napoca was selected as the European Youth Capital 2015 and has been declared Europe’s most hospitable city by the European Commission.
With
an impressive history confirmed by last editions, the Gheorghe Dima
music competition continues to be one of the most important music
competitions in Romania. Started
in 1984 by the "Gheorghe Dima" Music Academy in Cluj, the competition
ran continuously for twelve editions before being successfully revived
thirteen years later.
The
2011 edition, dedicated to flute and clarinet, marked a leap in the
competition's international dimension, with some of the most important
performers in the world as jury members and approximately 130
contestants from 18 countries all over the globe.
In the same vein, the 15th edition of the competition (July 2015) awaits musicians from all over the world in its sections - Flute and Clarinet - to stand before a jury made of world renowned personalities, probably the youngest international jury ever.
